A Letter from the Pastor

The summer break is almost over and all the children will be going back to school soon.  As a child, I used to love those summer breaks.  Back in those days we didn't go back to school until September and the month of August was a time of fun and fishing.  Nevertheless the beginning of school was also a time of mixed emotions as there was a hint of excitement mixed with the dread and sorrow of summer coming to an end.

As a high school student the idea of summer breaks disappearing becomes a reality and as an adult you tend to appreciate those days you had back then.  Now as a pastor, I have grown to appreciate the return of school for several reasons.  Usually the return of school means the return of adult programming in the church and in the eyes of some it means the return to church.

As we move into fall we are getting ready at the church for the return of Wednesday Night Suppers and Wednesday night programming.  Our first Wednesday Night Supper will be on August 13th.  Following Supper on that night we will move into the sanctuary for a town hall type meeting.  I would appreciate everyone making it out to this meeting even if you don't typically come to Wednesday night activities.  This will be a time when you can share your thoughts, hopes, dreams, and visions about different aspects of our church life.  The following week on August 20th, the different classes will begin.  I hope you can find one that meets your need at this time in your relationship with God.  All of our class offerings are listed on the inside of the August newsletter and on the first page of the website..  When you find the one that you want to attend and it requires registration, please call the church office and register so that we can have books or materials for everyone.
