A Letter from the Pastor

The back-to-school commotion is well underway.  I hope all of our students and teachers are ready to get back into the structured routines of a new school year.  As school starts, we resume our regular schedule as well.  However, there will be some changes in our routine as we get back to our Wednesday night programming.  One of the major changes is that we will no longer be having our Wednesday Night Suppers.  We are unable to continue the program at this time.  Several factors contributed to this decision by the Wednesday Night Supper Committee.  That being said, there will be some special Wednesday nights when different groups will be hosting dinners.  These will be announced in advance for your planning.

Our Wednesday night programs for children, youth and adults will still begin at 6:00 pm.  There will be two group opportunities for our adults this fall.  The video series "That the World May Know" will continue to meet in the parlor for all who are interested.  We will also be having a service of praise and prayer in the sanctuary.  This time will give us an opportunity for praise and a more in-depth time of prayer.  Prayer is one of the most, if not the most important means we have of drawing closer to God and experiencing God.  I think we need to come together more often as a church for the purpose of prayer.  Therefore, on August 12th we will begin our 6:00 praise and prayer service.  I hope the absence of regular Wednesday night suppers is not too great an inconvenience for you.  More importantly to us all, I hope you will come and find food for your soul on Wednesday evenings this fall.

Blessings,

Rev. Jimmy Cook
