PENTECOST
With Easter and our two weeks of spring weather behind us it feels
like summer has arrived. At times, it can seem as though the
rest of the Christian year is just plain, and maybe just plain
dull. Then Christmas rolls around and we can have another
big celebration. Well I hope this is not the case for you
and for our church family because this month we are approaching
Pentecost Sunday.
As we go through this month let us reflect on the instructions
Jesus gave his disciples before he left. He told them to go
into Jerusalem and to wait until they received the gift he had
promised. Of course, the gift he was speaking of was the
Holy Spirit. What better time could there be for me, you,
and our entire church to spend in prayer. We should seek the
guidance and empowering of the Holy Spirit for our lives and for
our church. Therefore let us be in prayer this month asking
God to empower us and to show us what he has planned for us as a
church.
