A Letter from the Pastor

November is going to be a busy month.  I pray that it will be a productive month as we move forward in several areas.  We will be holding our charge conference on the 20th at 2:30pm Charge conference gives some of us some extra paperwork; however, it gives us an opportunity to evaluate our past year and get prepared for another year of ministry.  While planning for the next year of ministry, we will be asking you to reaffirm your support to the vows we all made as members of the church.  Sunday the 13th will be our Commitment Sunday this year.

We will also continue our time of prayer and discernment about the mission and structure of our church.  While this may not sound like the most interesting way to spend our Sunday evenings, it will have a lasting impact on this church for years to come.  I thank everyone who has been involved with this process and has taken the time to pray for the direction and spiritual growth of the church.

Thanksgiving is usually the highlight of November.  As we gather around tables with family and friends, let us give thanks to God for the things he has done.  As a church,  I think we will all be thankful when we are able to hold worship services in the sanctuary again.  If all goes well, we will be back in the sanctuary by the last Sunday in November.  While we can't guarantee a November completion on the building, I am thankful that we are no longer looking at a late December or early January completion date.  Although Thanksgiving is at the end of this month, we should enter it with thanksgiving to the God who will sustain us and work through us as we work out his plan.

Grace and Peace,.
