I am excited to let
you know about an amazing event that we are planning for July
27-28, here at Hartford First UMC. Rev. Jean Spikes and Mr.
Rodney Blankenship are going to be leading us through a weekend of
spiritual renewal and transformation. Our focus will be how
God transforms the lives of real people. We will hear
testimonies from ten people about how God has transformed their
lives and can do the same for you. You will learn more about
the working of the Holy Spirit, your relationship with Jesus, and
the transforming power of God.
This event is a
follow-up from our Holy Spirit Conference that we had last year,
with a few twists.
- As we have not
done enough together in the past, this year we are partnering
with Sardis UMC to bring this event to life. Through our
united effort of planning, sharing, and testifying, we will grow
our churches together in ministry.
- Children and
Youth activities are going to be held alongside the adult
weekend. Again, through a joint effort with Sardis, our
children and youth will have fun, learn and grow together in the
faith.
- Friday night and
Saturday: On Friday, July 27 we will gather at 7:00 p.m. and
stay until 9:00 pm. Then, Saturday at 9:00 am we will
gather to follow up until 2:00pm. Your children and youth
will have their own activities during these times...it's not
just baby-sitting.
- Lunch will be
provided.
- FREE!!! There is
no cost for this event, but a love offering will be taken for
anyone who wants to contribute to the cost of the event
- Prayer Vigil-24
hours prior to our gathering on Friday, people from our churches
will have been in constant prayer for God to move during this
"Transformer Weekend."
